What PaySutra is
PaySutra is a personal expense tracker. You log transactions - by typing, texting our Telegram bot, or sending images - and we show you budgets, trends and AI-generated summaries of your own data.
Data we store
- Your account: email address, display name, language preference.
- Financial records you create: transactions, accounts, budgets, goals and recurring items.
- If you link Telegram: your Telegram user id and username, so the bot knows who you are.
- Anonymous usage counters for the AI features (to enforce fair-use limits).
Receipt and bank-SMS images are processed but not stored - we extract the transaction and discard the picture.
How the AI works with your data
When you use AI features (text parsing, screenshot import, insights, the Ask assistant), the relevant text or image is sent to our AI provider (Groq, Inc.) to be interpreted, and the result is returned to you. We do not use your data to train models, and every AI feature is isolated per account - one user’s data can never appear in another user’s results.
What we never do
- We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We never read your SMS inbox - you choose what to send us.
- We never move money; PaySutra is a record-keeper, not a wallet.
Security
Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres) with row-level security, which enforces at the database layer that each account can only ever read its own rows. Connections are encrypted in transit.
Cookies
We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual accounts and transactions in the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the address below and we will action it within 30 days.
